San Lucas y San Pablo Food Pantry: In the United States, more than one out of five children lives in a household with food insecurity (USDA). Purchase an economical meal of nonperishable food for a family each week. Suggestions are: 1) Canned ham, mac & cheese, green beans; 2) White rice, pink or red beans, canned tomatoes and veggies; 3) Sardines, tomato sauce, pasta, veggies; 4) Tuna, potatoes, canned peas; 5) Canned salmon, black beans, canned corn, diced tomatoes. In a rush to the checkout? Pick up a protein rich entree like tuna, salmon, sardines, canned chicken or peanut butter.
