St. Paul's Parish Visitors
Do you know someone who would benefit from a visit to their home, nursing home or hospital? Do you have a family member who is recovering from an illness or unable to attend church regularly? The St. Paul's Visitors Ministry is designed to assist those members of our parish community in these situations, and who would welcome regular visits from the parish.
The Visitors, comprised of adult parishioners in teams of two, are trained in offering the eucharist, healing prayer, and/or Reiki (a form or energy healing which involves the laying on of hands.) If you would like to find out more or schedule a visit, please call the church office (259-3013) and ask for one of the clergy. Mention that you are requesting a Parish Visit for yourself or a family member.
Bridgeport Hospital Bed Funds
Many years ago, bequests were made by or in the name of Charles Ferry, Mary Nichols Ferry, and Oliver Gould Jennings for the benefit of members of St. Paul’s Church or other residents of Fairfield who received care at Bridgeport Hospital. These bequests established “bed funds” that have appreciated considerably over the ensuing years.
These funds are still available through the Rector and/or Wardens for any parishioner or any Fairfield resident who may have to struggle to pay part or all of expenses incurred as a patient at Bridgeport Hospital. By terms of the original bequests, however, and because the funds are actually held in trust by Bridgeport Hospital, they are not available for expenses incurred at other hospitals or for other medical purposes.
Please keep these Bed Funds in mind if you hear of needs that may arise within your household or family, or within the larger network of your family and friends here in Fairfield. And please bring needs to the attention of the Rector, the Associate Rector, or the Wardens—all of whom will be happy to answer questions you may have.
